CommunATI is a Bay Tech Ltd. initiative — it stays small on purpose. Sponsor dollars keep the directory free for families, keep Indigenous-led programs free permanently, and bankroll the unglamorous infrastructure: hosting, geocoding, event sync, equipment-share logistics. Three tiers. Annual. No revenue share, no equity, no strings.
Sponsor revenue is the second leg of the CommunATI funding stool — Bay Tech subsidy + member-org subscriptions + sponsorship. We publish a one-page financial summary every fiscal year so you can see where the dollars went. Pricing is placeholder until founding sponsors help us calibrate; the categories are the load-bearing part, not the round numbers.
Parents and youth never pay to find programs. Sponsor dollars cover the search infrastructure, calendar sync, and the bilingual content layer so families across the province see the same network.
Indigenous-led programming pays nothing — permanently — and gets onboarding support to boot. That's a policy, not a discount, and sponsorship is what makes it sustainable.
Member-org subscription tiers are deliberately low (placeholder $29 / $59 / $129 CAD per month). Sponsorship lets us keep the floor that low without starving the platform.
Geocoding fees, hosting, .ics generation, push notifications, Supabase tier upgrades, accessibility audits, French translation. None of this shows up in marketing copy. All of it has to be paid for.
Pricing is intentionally a round number while we calibrate with the first cohort of sponsors. If your budget is between tiers, write us — we'd rather lock in a founding sponsor at a custom number than lose the relationship over a round dollar.

All tiers can be paid annually by cheque, e-transfer, or invoice. Stripe checkout will be wired once the platform's billing layer is live (estimated Q3 2026). No. Bay Tech Ltd. is a for-profit operating company. Sponsorship is a business expense (and may be deductible as marketing / community investment under CRA rules — confirm with your accountant). If you need a charitable receipt, we can route the contribution through a fiscal sponsor partner — write us first.
No. Sponsorship buys visibility (logo placement, mention in the year-end summary, briefing access). It does not buy editorial influence over which orgs are listed, which programs are featured, or which Indigenous-led initiatives are highlighted. We say so out loud here so it's on record.
Anchor tier yes — you can earmark toward Indigenous-led STEM, the equipment-share pool, rural-school outreach, the French-language content layer, or another program area. Founding and Network tiers go to the general operating budget so the network has flexibility.
Founding-sponsor logos stay listed for the full calendar year they paid for. After that they move to a "Past sponsors" sub-section on this page (sunsetting transparency, not erasing history). Founding-sponsor 2026 badges are permanent — we keep the historical record visible.
We say no to: weapons manufacturers, predatory lenders, fossil-fuel extraction (energy transition / renewables OK), and anyone whose product is marketed primarily to children for purchase (toys / educational products OK; predatory ad-funded apps not OK). The list is short and conservative on purpose.
Because we'd rather set the categories first and let the first cohort calibrate the round numbers. If you sponsor at $1K and the Founding tier later moves to $1.5K, your founding badge and benefits are locked at the rate you paid for the full year. We don't retroactively raise prices on early supporters.
