Yes. Families never pay to use CommunATI. No subscription, no premium tier, no ads. Browsing the directory, saving favourites, and adding events to your calendar are all free — permanently.
No, for browsing. You can search programs, view org pages, and download events as .ics calendar files without signing in. An account is only required if you want to save favourites, follow specific orgs, or receive optional notifications about new programs in your region.
Registration happens on the organization's own page or platform — CommunATI sends you there. We don't hold registrations, take payments, or sit between you and the org. If an org's registration link is broken, let us know and we'll fix the listing.
Programs are tagged by age band: under 5, 5–7, 8–10, 11–13, 14–16, and 17+. The directory covers everything from preschool STEM play to adult continuing-education and post-secondary outreach. Filter by age band on the programs page.
The public directory shows program information only — no kid profiles, no public photos of children, no chat features. The family-side account is for parents and guardians, not youth, and stores the minimum required to send program reminders (an email and your region). The data policy has the full statement.
Manitoba-wide is the goal. The launch directory leans Winnipeg because that's where the largest cluster of programs is, but we're actively recruiting member orgs in Brandon, Thompson, Selkirk, The Pas, Steinbach, Portage, and northern / remote communities. Distance filtering is built in.
Placeholder tiers $29 / $59 / $129 CAD per month with no setup fee, no contract, no transaction cut. Indigenous-led STEM and First Nations / Métis education authorities pay nothing, permanently. Small new programs that can't afford the $29 floor can request a temporary waiver — write us.
An org page on the public directory, calendar publishing (events sync to families' .ics feeds), basic analytics, logo upload, equipment-share posting, and listing priority in regional searches. Higher tiers add multi-program management, custom URL, and the school-partnership inquiry pipeline.
No. We don't run programs, don't take a transaction cut on registrations, and don't apply for the same operating grants member orgs apply for. We will apply for project-specific build-out grants (translation, accessibility audit) that fund the platform itself — never something that puts us in the same pool as our members.
Sign up at app.communati.ca, click "List your organization", and complete the four-step onboarding: about, programs, schedule, geocoded address. Approval usually takes one or two business days while we verify the org is real.
The free public listing is reserved for Indigenous-led STEM and verified school-board-run programs. Commercial and most non-profit orgs pay the membership floor — it's how the platform stays sustainable without a transaction cut on families. There's a 90-day free trial for new orgs that want to evaluate.
Yes. Monthly billing, cancel anytime, no clawbacks. Your org page stays listed (as inactive / archived) for one year after cancellation so existing parents can still find your contact information; full delisting is also available on request.
School divisions get an annual flat rate that covers every in-division STEM program, club, and outreach event — one contract, all schools. The rate scales with division size; small divisions pay less than large urban divisions. First Nations education authorities and MFNERC-affiliated schools are permanently exempt.
Yes, with the school's permission. Curriculum-integrated programs, in-class workshops by external orgs, and field-trip-bookable experiences can all be listed. The directory distinguishes between in-school-time and out-of-school-time so families filter correctly.
No. We don't collect student data. The platform stores program metadata (name, age band, schedule, location) and family-side account data (parent email, region). No student records, no grade-level performance, no individual youth profiles. The data policy is the full statement.
Yes. Email schools@communati.ca with your division name and a couple of times that work. Demos are about 30 minutes and cover the listing dashboard, parent-side experience, and how the partnership-inquiry pipeline works.

No. If a funder uses CommunATI to identify partner orgs and then routes dollars to those orgs, 100 percent of those dollars pass through. We don't take a re-granting fee, a coordination fee, or any administrative percentage.
Yes. Bay Tech Ltd. is audited annually and a one-page financial summary for CommunATI is published on the funding page after each year's audit is filed. The first summary covers FY2026 (posted Q1 2027). Pre-launch sponsors can see Bay Tech's prior-year audited financials on request.
Weapons manufacturers, predatory lenders (payday / high-cost short-term lenders), fossil-fuel extraction (renewables and energy-transition OK), and products marketed primarily to children for purchase (educational products fine; predatory ad-funded apps not). The list is short and conservative on purpose.
Yes — project-specific grants for bounded build-outs (translation, accessibility audit, Indigenous partnership coordinator role) are welcome. Operating grants that lock us into a single funder's priorities are not. Write us with the build you'd like to fund and we'll scope it.

No. CommunATI is an independent initiative of Bay Tech Ltd., a Manitoba private corporation. It is not part of Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning, not a school-division product, and not funded by any single government program. School divisions are customers / partners, not owners.
Bay Tech Ltd. is a Manitoba operator and the founders are Manitobans. The province also has a genuinely fragmented STEM ecosystem — strong individual programs, no coordination layer above them — and a small enough population that a coordination effort can actually become useful inside a single year. Yes — usually same-week. Email press@communati.ca with the angle and a couple of times. We can do recorded video, on-record by-phone, on-background by-email, or in-person in Winnipeg. Founder bio and headshot are pre-cleared in the press kit; ad-hoc quotes are available on request.
Embargoes are honoured if agreed before sharing material. Background-only conversations are honoured if labeled at the start. We don't no-comment by default — assume on-record unless you specifically request otherwise.
